Laura V. Dietrich

Laura is a trial attorney with over five years’ experience representing a wide variety of clients in various aspects of litigation, including, but not limited to, Dram Shop, wrongful death, premises liability, and automobile/trucking accidents. Laura appreciates the role she plays for each client and takes seriously her dedication to achieving the client’s goals. In all of her cases, Laura recognizes the need to provide practical and cost-effective advice to meet the unique needs of each client.


  • Assisted in obtaining defense verdict barring plaintiff from any recovery in a premises liability case as second-chair;
  • Obtained multiple dismissals in cases involving general contractor–subcontractor injury on the job claims;
  • Obtained summary judgments on behalf of premises owners involved in on-the-job injury claims;
  • Assisted in numerous trial preparations by drafting trial motions, motions in limine, and trial briefs;
  • Obtained dismissal of wrongful death case through filing of a motion for summary judgment that resulted in plaintiff’s counsel dismissing case rather than responding to motion;
  • Successfully negotiated favorable settlements in numerous premises liability, general negligence, and Dram Shop cases;
  • Experienced in various employer–employee relationship matters between contractors and subcontractors;
  • Extensive experience in both pre-suit and post-suit mediations and successful informal settlement negotiations; and
  • Prepared No Evidence Motion for Summary Judgment that resulted in plaintiff’s counsel dropping Estate’s claims.

Laura earned her B.S. from the University of Virginia, graduating from the McIntire School of Commerce, while also minoring in Biology. Laura loved her time in Charlottesville but was happy to return home to Texas to attend law school and be close to family.

Laura earned her J.D. from the Baylor School of Law. While at Baylor, Laura was selected to represent the school in the Emory Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition. She also participated in various in-school legal competitions to further develop her litigation practice skills.

Laura lives in Dallas with her husband and daughter. The family also has a black lab, Duke. While Laura loved growing up in Austin, she and her family have put down roots in Dallas and have thoroughly enjoyed making Dallas their home. Laura enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and watching football.
